D&M Maintenance are a response maintenance business offering civil engineering, fabrication, electrics and plumbing services. They serve the UK and Europe. D&M’s customers include shopping centres, industrial parks and retail parks, but they mainly work with managing agents and commercial landlords. Recently they have diversified into more specialist services; they are registered in Health and Safety for automatic doors and gates.

Mike Burrill, the Director, felt D&M needed to modernise and make better use of data to ensure their dispatch, logistics and service delivery was smooth and efficient, from initial call to final invoice. The BEST Growth Hub referred Mike to TALE and Sian Dowell, Business Support Facilitator, for help.

Through a TALE Lite package, Mike chose to engage with a consultant who could help them to choose and implement a new solution that would completely automate their logistics processes. D&M were awarded £2,000 towards implementing their chosen system.

The new set-up automated everything to make sure data was captured correctly. So, when a job came through from the customer, it identified the right driver with the right van and the right parts in the nearest location. This made the D&M team far more efficient.
